This customer had a lovely new large kitchen/family room extension built on the back of his house, which with the router being positioned at the front of the house, resulted in him and his family experiencing poor WiFi in the new area where the family particularly needed a good signal.
Our solution was to discreetly run an external grade CAT5e black cable from the front of the house, above the garage and extension flat roof and into the extension from the back of the house and install a TP-Link EAP225 wireless access point on the rear wall of the extension.
The customer was that pleased with the greatly improved WiFi that he called us back in again a couple of months later. He had decided to have a nice wooden shed right at the bottom of his rather long garden to use as a personal gym. As he wanted to watch catch-up TV and use his smart phone whilst having his workout he asked us to install a wireless access point in his gym.
Rather than running a complete new CAT5e cable from the front of the house right down to the bottom of the garden we used the existing cable that we had previously run unto the kitchen/family area. We installed a TP-Link TL-SG1005P PoE switch adjacent to the kitchen to tee off down the garden to the shed. As well as providing power to both access points there are a couple of spare ports for if any further access points are required in the future.
