Panasonic Phone KX-NS700 Phone System installation at a Birmingham Opticians

Panasonic KX-NS700 Telephone System

This branch of a small chain of opticians in the Birmingham area had been limping along with a very old BT Ambassador telephone system which was installed back in the 1980’s.

Their system was really showing it’s age with crackling extensions and handsets that had seen better days. It was without even the basics such as caller ID and speed dials.

After appraising the practice’s requirements we installed a Panasonic KX-NS700 telephone system with a Panasonic KX-D543 24-key, 3-line display for the reception phone and four KX-DT521 8-key, 1-line display system phones for elsewhere in the practice.

Quick dial keys were programmed on the handsets to enable calls internal calls to be easily made and for external calls to be transferred. Voicemail was set up both for the when the practice is closed and for during the day for the odd occasion when the receptionist may be on their home.

Although it involved a little more work we also re-sited the phone system out of the way on a wall in the reception instead of where the old system was located protruding out in the middle of a wall beneath a nice display of spectacles. We also tidied up a lot of the old cabling, removing redundant wires and fitted new connection boxes.

As well as now having caller ID, speed dials, conference calls and voicemail they have the option to have auto-attendant, call queuing and advertising music on hold, to mention just a few of the added benefits, when they are ready. Although they don’t presently having the option of fibre broadband, when they do, they will be able to have SIP trunks and the option of networking their phone system to similar systems at their other branches.
