For a number of years we had looked after an aging Alcatel telephone system for a Birmingham based company that deal with industrial furnaces. When they decided to move to larger premises they came to us to install a new Panasonic KX-NS700 telephone system as well as installing a local area network with 44 data sockets.
We began by installing the local area network data sockets with all the network cables terminating to a floor standing data cabinet that we installed in a large cupboard. The data sockets were used for computers and printers, as well as the Panasonic IP system phones. We also added a Netgear switch and PoE switch, as well as a Draytek Vigor 2760 router to the data cabinet.
We then commenced the installation of the Panasonic KX-NS700 telephone system along with five KX-NT553 and seven KX-NT551 system phones. As well as providing all the usual features this business required we also set up distinctive ringing. This was because the business traded under different names with their own DDI numbers and wished to easily determine how the caller should be greeted.
At a later stage we also installed a Konftel 220 conference for their meeting room and a Valcom PA speaker in the noisy workshop area to enable staff in that area to hear PA announcements from the phone system.
